10-day intensive wrestling camp at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York from June 24th-July 3rd.
The camp was designed for the serious wrestler who desired a highly competitive and intense training experience.
All aspects of folk-style wrestling were covered, with special attention paid the psychological and physical development of each wrestler.
Jake was exposed to training techniques of some of the worlds’ most accomplished wrestlers.
His favorite clinician was Mitch Clark, he is best known for his 17-0 technical fall in the first period of the 1998 NCAA finals.
He is looking forward to sharing his newly acquired skills with his teammates this winter.
Jake attended the camp with his cousin, Collin Blackwell from Commerce, Michigan.
After the camp, Jake’s aunt and uncle treated him to a baseball game at Detroit’s Comerica Park. The game happened to be the Detroit Tigers against the Minnesota Twins.
Following the game, Jake witnessed the most impressive fireworks display he had ever seen.
Jake thought the camp experience was great, the trip to New York was good, being escorted onto his airplane as the very first person seated was pretty cool, the Tigers game okay (since the Twins lost) and the fireworks display was awesome.
